How to work out the price of what you make

Pricing something you make by hand or with a machine is more than adding up the materials. If you forget the electricity, machine wear, failed pieces or your own time, you end up working for free without noticing. Suma3D does that maths for you in seconds.

The formula Suma3D uses

  1. Material: what each piece uses up (filament, resin, sheet, blank item, transfer…).
  2. Machine and energy: the electricity it uses and the share of the machine's price that wears out with each job.
  3. Your time: the minutes of preparation, finishing and packing, times what you want to earn per hour.
  4. Waste and extras: a percentage for failures, plus packaging and other small costs.
  5. Sales: platform fees, your profit and tax are added on top of the total cost.

You get a recommended price, the minimum price to avoid losing money and a breakdown of where each unit of money goes. If you already have a price in mind, enter it and the calculator tells you how much you earn.

Is Suma3D free?

Yes. It's free, with no sign-up, no ads and no cookies. Every feature is included: PDF quotes with your logo, Excel export, saved products and slicer file import.

Where is my data stored?

In your own browser. Your products, materials and machines are not sent to any server.

Can I create quotes for my customers?

Yes. With one button you create a quote as a PDF or an image, with the total or a breakdown by item. Your customer never sees your profit or internal costs.

Does it work if I sell on Etsy or other platforms?

Yes. Enter the fee of the platform you sell on and compare what you would need to charge on Etsy, eBay, Amazon Handmade or your own shop to earn the same. The built-in fees are approximate, so it's worth checking them.

Does it work outside Spain?

Yes. You can use it in English or Spanish, in euros, dollars, pounds or Mexican pesos, and enter your country's tax rate.
